Women's health, a priority

Currently in the territory, many women are neglecting their gynecological follow-up because obtaining a consultation is too complicated with the difficulty of making an appointment if one is "a new patient".

The CPTS Val de Guyenne informs you that you can consult a midwife or a general practitioner specializing in women's health, whatever your need, and carry out your screenings in the laboratory.

How to reintegrate into a gynecological care pathway?

1. The SAS, Access to Care Service

If you are unable to get an appointment: contact the Healthcare Access Service (the SAS) on number 15, even if you have non-urgent symptoms.

A doctor will be able to advise you, arrange a teleconsultation or help you find an appointment within 48 hours.

2. The Gynecologist Bus

The CPTS Val de Guyenne organizes the arrival of a Gynecology Bus 1 day per month for women who have missed out on gynecological care.

The Gynecology Bus will resume after the summer.

Find more information below.

Appointments can be made through the gynecology department secretariat at CHIC-MT. Please specify "GYNECOBUS".

3. Smear analysis in the laboratory

Even if you no longer have a gynecologist or if getting an appointment is too difficult, you can have your smears done without waiting at a medical analysis laboratory.

A smear test should be performed every 3 years between the ages of 25 and 29.

This examination is essential to rule out any risk.

In our area, the Miramont-de-Guyenne laboratory offers Pap smears. An appointment is required

4. Midwife or general practitioner

At any age, gynecological follow-up is essential to stay healthy, even if you do not have children and/or are menopausal.

You can request a gynecological follow-up and/or preventative consultation with a midwife or a general practitioner with expertise in gynecology.

Annual follow-up examination, smear tests, screenings, prescription and monitoring of contraception, IUD insertion, etc.

The HPV test should be carried out every 5 years between the ages of 30 and 65.

Our territory has a midwife accepting new patients as well as general practitioners with gynecological skills.

Did you know that?

By having regular Pap smears, you actively participate in your health and reduce the risk of developing a disease. 90% of cervical cancers could be prevented through prevention.

But that's not all: vaccination helps prevent cervical cancer

Cervical cancers are caused by viruses called HPV (human papillomavirus) which are transmissible by both men and women.

Vaccination should be carried out in girls as well as boys aged 11 to 14, but catch-up vaccination is possible up to age 26.

If you are over 26 and have never been vaccinated, you must have screening smears until the age of 65.

During its rounds, make an appointment in our Gynecology Bus with the midwives or doctors from Marmande Hospital

The Gynecology Bus offers women in the area gynecological consultations, screenings, contraception, and postnatal care. The Gynecology Bus travels within the area one day a month.

The Gynecobus is a medical vehicle, equipped to offer gynecological consultations to the inhabitants of the territory, in a completely secure and confidential setting.

On board, a team consisting of a midwife or a gynecologist from the gynecology department of the Marmande hospital will receive you in complete confidentiality.

The Gynecology Bus also offers the presence of associations working for women's health, screening and prevention.

The press is talking about it

" Without this bus, I wouldn't have sought medical attention ": Mobile gynecologists in the heart of a medical desert

Due to a lack of gynecologists near their homes, some women had not received any care for decades. In Lot-et-Garonne, midwives and doctors are offering consultations from inside a converted van.

Miramont-de-Guyenne: The Gynecology Bus made a stop in the fortified town

After Seyches and Lauzun in January and February, the Gynécobus stopped near the Miramont-de-Guyenne health center on March 24. Led by the Marmande-Tonneins hospital center and the Val de GuyenneTerritorial Professional Health Community (CPTS), this initiative aims to improve access to care for women in the Miramont, Lauzun and Duras area in particular.

Lacking gynecologists, a bus provides a stepping stone

In rural areas, many women struggle to access gynecological care. To address this gap, in Lot-et-Garonne, a mobile medical unit (Medicobus) is transformed into a mobile gynecology unit (Gynécobus) once a month.

New: Gynecological consultations on board a bus in this part of Lot-et-Garonne

This is a much-anticipated new service in Lot-et-Garonne, particularly in areas with limited access to healthcare. The Gynécobus, as its name suggests, will offer mobile gynecological consultations . It will be stopping in  Miramont-de-Guyenne in the coming months. […] This bus, a concrete step towards improved access to healthcare and a way to bring care closer to patients, will ensure regular and local follow-up for women in the towns of Miramont-de-Guyenne, Lauzun, Duras, and the surrounding areas.
